What We Offer

  • 55 minute private lessons, at our flagship location in Connecticut. We’ll begin with an initial consultation, which you can register for here.

  • Working with families and practitioners virtually or in person to troubleshoot, overcome obstacles, and create more opportunities whether that is at home or in school systems. This service is available virtually here.

  • Working on health is often a key part of creating more regulation for all of us.   • Training Partners in Connection and Communication through The Bridge.

    The Bridge is a new training curriculum created by Natalia and Maria Welch, a Speech Language Pathologist, designed to guide practitioners through the foundations of spelling-based communication. They created it because they believe that every nonspeaking person has a rich inner world and deserves access to a communication pathway that honors that. What makes their approach different is the deep commitment to regulation as the foundation of this work. Spelling-based communication is not just a technique, it is a relationship, and it requires practitioners who are dedicated, self-aware, and doing their own work to show up as regulated and present. This is not a quick skill to acquire, but for those truly called to it, it is some of the most meaningful work there is.

Our Process

Presume Competence

Whenever someone comes in to see us, we always presume competence. We know that all people regardless of their presentation deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

Motor Coaching

Coaching the motor and working on purposeful motor skills is the first step to the spelling process. Learning how to create the motor pathways to reliably point to spell and type opens up the doors to expressive communication.

Lessons & Education

We work with age appropriate (or higher level) educational materials through the format of spelling - adapted lessons. These lessons are engaging, interesting, and have a hierarchy of questions that support the process.

Lifestyle

Once someone begins their spelling journey, it becomes a lifestyle. Creating regulation and co-regulation across all environments whether that is in the home, at school, out in the community, or here at FF. We work towards autonomy and meaningful opportunity across all areas of life.
